SERVICES

Since 1979, the Legal Services Program has provided members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community with referrals to non-profit legal organizations and private attorneys specializing in both civil and criminal fields of law. All Center on Halsted Legal Services Program referrals support LGBT rights, oppose discrimination against LGBT individuals and welcome LGBT clients.

Currently, Center on Halsted offers a Legal Clinic on Tuesday evenings from 4pm to 7pm and Wednesday evenings, from 6pm to 8pm by appointment. This is a setting where LGBT people can speak one-on-one with a volunteer attorney about their specific legal concern and receive appropriate information and referral options. LEGAL SEMINARS

Center on Halsted is committed to providing legal information to the LGBT community through a regular series of free legal seminars. In the past, seminars have been provided on topics such as landlord tenant disputes, buying a home, and adoption.
