A National Advisory Council, comprised of notable academics and clinicians with expertise in LGBT mental health, provided guidance on the formation and development of the Institute. The Council convened at the Center in June 2007 and May 2008 during its two year tenure. These professionals from the fields of anthropology, psychology and social work are key contributors to the theory and practice of LGBT care.
