EVENT DATE
Friday, April 6, 2018
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

LOCATION
Center on Halsted: Hoover-Leppen Theater

DESCRIPTION

Radical queer, trans, & non-binary people are already on the vanguard of creating the world in which Nicole Garneau wants to live. Nicole will present a participatory performance of UPRISING and a discussion about her new book, Performing Revolutionary: Art, Action, Activism. UPRISING performances encourage everyone, regardless of how they identify, to celebrate the work of queer/trans revolutionaries and liberate ourselves and our relationships after their examples.

Of the 60 Revolutionary Practices outlined in her book Performing Revolutionary, Nicole will focus on these three:

Revolutionary Practice #7: Liberate our sexual encounters

Revolutionary Practice #29: Share queer history in queer spaces

Revolutionary Practice #34: Revolutionize gender
