LOCATION Center on Halsted
DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the Anti-Violence Project at Center on Halsted to raise awareness for October Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Am I Man Enough? will return to the center on Thursday October 17.
Integrating personal narrative and social critique, Am I Man Enough? is a show where people tell personal stories to critically examine the culture of toxic masculinity and the construction of masculinity and manhood.
For the October show, we have a great lineup that includes: • Molly Brennan • Omega Joy Buluran • Sungjae Lee • Aaron McManus • Imani McPhaden • Angelina Nordstrom • Phillipe Thao • Moises Villada.
We will have a pre-show reception starting at 6:30pm at Irvine Harris Family Foundation Reception Hall. Several service providers will be present to answer questions. The show starts at 7pm at Hoover-Leppen Theatre. The whole event will take place on the third floor. Please join us for this critical dialogue.
Am I Man Enough? is produced and hosted by Ada Cheng, a professor-turned storyteller, solo performer, and storytelling show producer. She produces four storytelling shows, including Pour One Out, Am I Man Enough?, Talk Stories, and Speaking Truths Series. Her motto: Make your life the best story you tell.
