COLOR BLIND: OUR TAKE ON BLACK & WHITE
Thursday, August 15, 2013 - Sunday, September 15, 2013
4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Center on Halsted - 2nd Floor Gallery
"Color Blind: Our Take on Black and White" displays the creative work of artists engaged in our Youth Program's open studio group. The participants are proud of their work and excited to share selected pieces with the community. The theme reflects youths' perspective of the intersections of their ethnic and LGBTQ identities by choosing black and white media instead of color.
Center on Halsted hosts a weekly art therapy group, providing a safe space for LGBTQ youth to use the creative process to promote self-expression, identity, healing, and growth. Center on Halsted organizes an annual showcase to highlight the work of these artists.
If you have questions, would like to make a donation, or are interested in purchasing any work, please contact Iu-Luen Jeng, Youth Program Clinician, at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our reception desk in the first floor lobby. Eighty-percent of every purchase goes directly to the artist to support their professional development. Remaining proceeds benefit the Youth Art Therapy Program.
