Mental Health First Aid
May 9, 2024 • 9 am - 4 pm • Virtual Event

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorder. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to care. The course covers common signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use, how to interact with a person in crisis, how to connect them with help, and how to care for yourself while caring for others. This course is a $170 value, but will cost $50 through Center on Halsted.

The course will be taught virtually. Participants will need to complete a two-hour, self-paced online class in advance. Participants will then complete a virtual, instructor-led training. The self-paced online class must be completed in advance to participate in the virtual training. Please sign up by the Monday prior to the event to ensure you can complete the two-hour, self-paced, online course prior to attending the instructor-led training on Thursday.

To make this training more accessible, we are able to offer some scholarship spots for those who need them. Please contact the presenter, Dr. Ashley Molin, at amolin@centeronhalsted.org to inquire about a scholarship or with any other questions regarding the presentation.
