FAQs
Q: I'm the parent/caregiver of a trans child, but my child doesn't want to attend. Can I still participate in the Summit?
A: Yes! We'd love to have you. Some youth will be attending without adult family members, and adults are welcome to join us without youth.

Q: I'm the parent/caregiver of a trans child, but my child doesn't want to attend. Can I still participate in the Summit?
A: Yes! We'd love to have you. Some youth will be attending without adult family members, and adults are welcome to join without youth.

Q: I'm the parent/caregiver of a trans child and I have other cis children. Can my cis kids participate too?
A: Yes! They are absolutely welcome, and we will even be having a cis-sibling specific session this year! We'll be sending the program in advance of the event, so they'll have time to figure out if they want to participate.

Q: I'm the grandparent/aunt/uncle/other non-parent family member of a trans child. Can I participate?
A: Yes! Family is expansive, and we welcome extended family to attend as well.

Q: I'm the parent/caregiver of a trans adult. Am I able to attend the summit?
A: Yes! The Summit is for all family members of trans individuals. While much of our programming will be geared towards younger individuals, you are still welcome to attend.

Q: I'm a young adult, but not in high school anymore. Can I still come?
A: Yes!

Q: I’m a middle/high school student. Do I need to attend the event with my parents or caregivers?
A: No! You can come without your parents/caregivers.

Q: Can I donate to support this event?
A: Yes absolutely, and thank you! If you are interested in making a donation in addition to registering, please use the additional donation box in the registration form. If you are interested donating but are not attending or would like to sponsor the event, please reach out to David Biele at dbiele@centeronhalsted.org.

Q: Why has the event moved to a new location?
A: While Youth Services has loved hosting the Trans Youth & Family Summit for the last five years, we have always been limited by our space. Partnering with Center on Halsted will allow this event to continue to grow and flourish and reach even more families!

Q: I'm a professional that supports trans children and youth, or I'd like to. Is the Summit for me?
A: No; we focus the audience for this event on transgender individuals and their families to prioritize and center these individuals.

If you have any additional questions, you are welcome to reach out to David Biele at dbiele@centeronhalsted.org.

Online registration for this event is now closed as we have reached capacity.
